The Small Stage
The Small Stage was established in the 1960s, when the architect Dušan Medved made plans to renew and enlarge the building. At that time, major expansion work was performed on the sides of the central building's stage tower, with a massive cross-wing at the rear of the building created. The building thus received a valuable new functional area which even to this day is used as the backstage, scenery depot, wardrobe and administration offices.
The Small Stage remained almost unchanged until 2013, and was urgently in need of renovation. The renovation, begun in the summer of 2013, ensures safe and pleasant working conditions and an improved atmosphere for visitors. The attractive interior consists of 100 seats, a larger foyer, a new entrance, a new elevator enabling access for disabled people in wheelchairs, a new staircase, etc.
