Young Drama is a programme aimed at youth. In addition to the diverse selection of performances, our young and curious visitors are offered a diverse pedagogical content for a visit to the theatre can be much more than just a school trip or occasional form of entertainment.
Writing Competition 2019/20
Young Drama and Teen Club are pleased to announce a writing competition for a short-length play script. It is open to participants aged 9 to 15, who are invited to submit their short-length plays or single scenes aimed at adolescents. We are looking for texts based on personal experiences of young authors, themed along the lines of »love«. Feel free to present interesting stories related to the experience of love and reflection on it.
The deadline for submission is Tuesday, 1 October 2019 (postmark date).
Writing Competition 2018/19
Young Drama and Hamlet Club are happy to announce a writing competition for a short-length play script. It is open to participants aged 15 to 18, who are invited to submit their short-length plays or single scenes intended for a staged reading and aimed at adolescents. We are looking for texts based on personal experience of young authors, themed along the lines of »Intimacy«, presenting interesting stories related to their own intimacy and the intimacy of others.
The deadline for submission is 1 October 2018 (postmark date).
Writing Competition 2017/18
Young Drama and Teen Club were happy to announce a writing competition involving short playscripts, open to participants, aged 9 to 15, to present short form plays or individual scenes for staged readings aimed at teenagers and adolescents. We were looking for texts, based on the young authors’ personal experience, captured by the title Now I know what it means to be different telling interesting stories of being different as seen through their own eyes.
Open call for a playwriting competition Teens 2016/17
Young Drama announced an open call for a play, themed What are you dreaming about? Submission was opened to up-and-coming authors, aged from fifteen to eighteen. We were keen to learn what they think of the world in which we live, and the world in which they would like to live. Which of these two worlds is real? What is the ideal world like? Does an ideal world exist at all? What is the meaning of utopia? How would you change the world if you could?
The teen dramatic text contest 2015/16
Young Drama and the Teen Club were holding a contest for a dramatic scene or a short dramatic text. Young writers were invited to create a short dramatic text or a single scene for theatre performance aimed at youngsters aged ten to fifteen. A selection of texts from the contest were be used for a theatre production, to be included in the programme of the Teen Subscription series.
