The SNT Drama Ljubljana on tour in China: Faust to open the Beijing People's Art Theatre International Festival 2017 tonight at 19.30

Faust, a co-production of the SNT Drama Ljubljana and the Ljubljana Festival, directed by Tomaž Pandur, is the opening and at the same time the central event of the Beijing People's Art Theatre International Festival organized by the Beijing People’s Art Theatre. The current edition of the festival marks the 65th anniversary of the founding of the Beijing Theatre and the 110th anniversary of the modernization of theatre art in China. One of the key missions of the international festival held at the leading Chinese state-funded drama theatre is also the establishment of cultural links and collaborations between the People's Republic of China and the countries of Central and South-Eastern Europe. The organizers expect that in the course of four weekends, twelve festival productions presented by four foreign theatres  ̶  the SNT Drama Ljubljana, the Serbian National Theatre from Belgrade, the Gesher Theater from Tel Aviv, and the Russian state »principal« Alexandrinsky Theatre from Saint Petersburg  ̶  will be attended by more than 20,000 theatre makers and theatre lovers from Beijing and the province of Hebei and other regions of China. The opening of Faust in the capital of the world’s most populous country will take place tonight at 19.30 on the main stage of the Beijing People's Art Theatre. Participation at the festival was sponsored by the internationally successful Slovenian company Bisol Group, the only Slovenian manufacturer of photovoltaic modules and other solar equipment of the highest quality, present in more than 70 countries around the world.
