For almost a decade, the musicians have been dedicated to acoustic and sophisticated music renditions. A saxophonist and composer Vasko Atanasovski is widely known for his collaboration with world famous jazz, rock, classical and traditional musicians, as well as for his remarkable approach to many musical styles. He has toured a large part of the world with his music ̶ India, China, Argentina, the USA and Europe, and collaborated with many distinguished names, such as Vlatko Stefanovski, Marc Ribot, Hindi Zahra, Living Colour and Tommy Emmanuel. Vasko’s trio features an outstanding guitarist and a renowned music producer Dejan Lapanja, who regularly works with Severa Gjurin, and a virtuoso on drums, Marjan Stanić, who has left an indelible impression in a number of groups, such as Čompe, Foltin, Lolita and Dertum. They will be joined on stage by Tamara Jokić, vocal, Žiga Golob, double bass, and Ariel Vei Atanasovski, cello.
The line-up of the concert, entitled Melem (in translation: remedy), will bring to life many world music traditions in a modern version, taking us along the paths of nostalgia, doomed love, endless love, eternal longing and passion. In addition to the original compositions by Atanasovski, they will present their original covers of Portuguese fado, made famous by Amália Rodriguez and Mariza. The musicians will present also Sephardic and Spanish traditions of the Mediterranean countries.
